Amalaki, Ancient Fruit Holds Promise for Modern Healing

As Featured On Ezine Articles

Amalaki, (Emblica officinalis) is a Fruit grown at the base of the Himalayan Mountains in India. It is also known by the Hindi name Amla. The fruit is green in color and sized between a grape and a golf ball. Unknown in the west, the fruit has a historical place of honor in the ancient Indian healing system known as Ayurveda.

Ayurveda, describes this fruit as very important for cell revitalization, immune system function and overall vitality. The fruit tree is revered in India and considered sacred in Hinduism. Modern research methods are revealing that ancient knowledge and traditions regarding Amalaki have a basis in fact.

Research studies available from the National Institute of Health indicate the fruit has an effect on: Reduction in Oxidation, Free Radical Scavaging, Anti-Aging, AntiBacterial, Cholesterol, Diabetic Cataracts, Memory Enhancement, Liver Health, AntiPyretic and Analgesic Effects.

How can a single fruit effect so many different parts of our health? The answer may be in the unique phytochemical signature of this amazing fruit. Ancient herbalists might say "it's good for everything." Science now has a term for the plant compounds that have multiple health benefits. These herbal remedies are now called Adaptagens

If there is a health concern an adaptagen will address it. Many Adaptagens have a history in Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Some Adaptagens with scientific research are: Cordeceps, Holy Basil, Ginseng, Licorice, Maca, Reshi, and Rhodiola.

Adaptagen research gained great momentum in Russia during the cold war era. Adaptagens are plant compounds from a single plant that effect whole body systems. Herbalists in the past called them "Tonics". Since 1968 Adaptagen research has found various spectrums of phytonutrients that flood the body and produce the results that make Amalaki such a standout in Ayurvedic Medicine.

For more Scientific regarding health claims the National Center for Biotechnology Information has a site http://www.PubMed.Gov The site is a service of the National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health. (Search "amla' or "Embicla officinalis")

Amalaki, a simple fruit from India now has modern research that supports an ancient history of healing.

Raw Food Powder?

Warning this story links to a Promotional Site...However I think the products processing methods are quite different and worth a look.

I've never been much of a fan of the "Green Drinks" For the most part the processing of the ingredients undergo some pretty extreme methods of extraction not to mention the origin of the ingredients themselves. Recently I found quite by accident a company that grows much of the ingredients in their "Powder" and has a very interesting drying process that has convinced me to give them a try.

This Quote from their site was interesting...It places these products within the "Raw Food" category based on temperature processing.

"Our proprietary process takes newly harvested, fresh-pressed 34°F liquid juice to powder within 30 seconds. During this process, the product temperature averages 65°F and never exceeds 100°F, which is considered phenomenal in the drying industry."

" perfect drying process is the key to maintaining the nutritional integrity of the fresh whole foods being dried. Unlike typical drying processes used in the nutritional supplement industry, the proprietary URI International drying process maintains, rather than compromises, the naturally occurring nutritional content in whole foods. Our unique and proprietary process preserves the nutritional integrity and life force of the fresh produce being dried, which is essential to health and well being."

Here is a link for information about these products. Warning this site is promotional but the information is quite interesting. See if you agree that this product has some advantages over others on the market.

Sunflower Oil Sucking?

Well actually it is called "Oil Pulling" and it has to be one of the more unusual healing methods I have come across in many years. Here is an exerpt from the website "Oil Pulling a Wonderful Therapy" (see link at bottom of post)

After all cold pressed oil would be considered a "Raw Food" Wouldn't It?

I hate to send you away from this blog but this is worth it.....come back soon.

Dr. F. Karach, M.D., presented a paper before the All-Ukrainian Association. The meeting was attended by oncologists and bacteriologists belonging to the Academy of Science of the USSR. Dr. Karach explained an unusual simple healing process using cold-pressed oils.
The results of this therapy invoked astonishment and doubt concerning the contents of his report. However, after further examining the workings of the oil therapy, one has but to then test it on oneself to prove its validity and effectiveness. It is most astonishing that such results can be achieved with this absolutely harmless biological healing method. This simple method makes it possible to effectively treat the most varied diseases, in some cases enabling one to avoid surgical intervention and the taking of medications that can have harmful side effects. The exciting factor of this healing method is its simplicity. It consists of swishing cold-pressed oil in the mouth( Sunflower or Seasme, Pl. note you don't need to go for organic oils only, A normal refined sunflower oil bought from any supermarket proven to be effective in many people). The healing process is accomplished by the human organism on its own. In this way it is possible to heal cells, tissue and all organs simultaneously; the body itself gets rid of toxic waste without disturbing the healthy microflora. Dr. Karach says human beings are living only half their life span. They could potentially live healthy to be 140 to 150 years old.

I wonder if the oil produced by the "Ringing Cedars of Russia" (See the archieved posts on this healing tree) might be even more powerful than Sunflower oil.

Russian Ringing Cedar Pine Nuts

There is a very good chance that reading these words may change your life in a very positive way. Nothing happens by accident and I believe you have been guided here to experience the incredible story of Vladimir Megre author of "The Ringing Cedars of Russia"

Do you have the spirit of an "Indiana Jones" If you do you, will find much more than pine nuts. You will find the universal secret energy of plants and how that energy is a gift to all humans. Your journey is about to begin.....

In 1994 a Siberian elder told Vladimir a story about rare "ringing cedars".......sacred trees which healed bodily diseases. These trees gave off a strange energy which could be felt as vibrations hence the name "Ringing Cedars". The elder told him that just such a tree was growing in the remote Siberian backwoods. Vladimir Megre investigated and rediscovered the ancient knowledge and folklore surrounding the value of virgin oil pressed from Siberian cedar nuts. This knowledge was all but lost through the years. But the mystery of the "Ringing Cedar" still needed to be discovered.

Megre, an entrepeneur set out on an expedition to find the tree that the elder described. Deep within the forest he met the elder's daughter Anastasia. That meeting has changed the lives of thousands and is the subject of the series of books.

The title of the first book in the Ringing Cedars Series is "Anastasia" and it reveals......No I won't tell you. What it reveals is very personal, and your experience will be different from mine and yet the same.
